Sayles Funeral HomeRoss C. Bimson, 83, of Waterford, passed away on October 2, 2025, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Ross was born on August 9, 1942, in St. Johnsbury to Clyde and Blanche (Gonyaw) Bimson. He was raised in Barnet on a dairy farm, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1961. After college he started work at Sears where he met his soulmate, Lois Cobb, whom he married on July 1, 1967, sharing many happy years together before her passing on October 9, 2016.
Ross worked for 16 years at Fairbanks before spending 25 years at St. Johnsbury Academy as a Master Plumber. He was a skilled woodworker and woodturner and loved being outdoors. He and Lois were able to travel the country throughout their lives together, always being sure to spend their anniversary in Wells, ME. He loved sports, especially those at St. Johnsbury Academy, as well as the Boston Red Sox, Celtics, and New England Patriots. He had many friends in this community and will be missed by all who knew him.
Ross is survived by his daughter, Barb Bimson; niece Debbie (Peter) Lavigne and their children Tim & Chloe; granddog Fenway & grandcat Julianne; as well as nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Clyde & Blanche Bimson, beloved wife Lois Bimson, sister Sue Anne Drown and brother-in-law Jerry Drown.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2-4pm at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street, St. Johnsbury, VT. A memorial service will take place beginning at 3pm at the same location. Burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Johnsbury Academy.
