Ross Nielson

Ross Leon Nielsen, age 77, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 7th, 2026, at home in Fountain, CO. He was born November 18th, 1948, in Sacramento, California, to Leon and Helen Nielsen. He married Maryanne P. Barrett on July 30th, 1972. Ross lived a life full of love; he enjoyed working on cars, riding his mountain bike, and the 49ers, playing golf, pool, darts, and bowling. He loved the 49ers. Telling stories about his kids, grandchildren, and cats; grilling; and being around loved ones and his pets. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maryanne P. Nielsen; sister Norma Jones; brother Chris Nielsen; sister-in-law Pam Nielsen; daughter Tanya Nielsen; son Patrick Nielsen; daughter Sara Olmo; son-in-law Reyes Olmo; grandsons Kaleb Morrell and Kaeden Akeroyd; granddaughters Tamara Nielsen, Tiffany McDowell, Kaeli Akeroyd, Teagan Olmo, and Reyna Olmo; great-granddaughter Rebeca Sage McDowell; and several nephews, nieces, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Helen Nielsen, and daughter, Rebecca Ann Morrell.

Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, March 7, at 12pm at:

Family and friends are invited to attend a reception immediately following the service.
