Memorial service for Roxanna “Roxy” Firebaugh, 70, of Grandview will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Grandview.
Roxy passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 in Grandview. She was born March 11, 1954 in Waukee, Iowa to Edgar and Lillian Comstock Baker. Roxy married Gregory Lane Firebaugh on October 25, 1980 in Panora, Iowa. She never met a stranger and went out of her way to help people. When it came to listening to others she gave them her full attention. Roxy had an infectious smile and was a great saleswoman. She could sell ketchup to a woman wearing white gloves. She grew up on one of the largest horse ranches in Iowa. This is where her love for horses started. Roxy was a member of First Baptist Church in Grandview. She loved Jesus and had a very personal walk with Him. Roxy adored her family and was the organizer of all the family vacations.
Roxy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Greg Firebaugh; children, Elizabeth Nance (Randy), Christopher Firebaugh (Aubrie), Tyler Firebaugh (Courtney); grandchildren, Ian Nance, Emma Nance, Abigail Firebaugh, Alexcis Firebaugh, Aedan Firebaugh, Ember Firebaugh, Eliana Firebaugh, Madison Porzio; brothers, Mike Baker (Nancy), Randy Baker (Laura), Birney Baker (Carolyn) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Roxy is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rebecca Thorne, and brother-in-law John Thorne.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Grandview Nursing Home for their care and love of Roxy.
