Roxsian Franchae Sharpe, affectionately known as Roxy, was born in Westmoreland Jamaica to Rowena and Keith Sharpe on November 11, 1994. She was the youngest of 4 siblings, Claudine Brooks, Dave Livingston, and Rackesh Sharpe.
Roxy lived in Jamaica until she was 5 years old and then migrated to the United States. She graduated from Royal Palm Beach High in the top five percent of her class. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Vocational Completer, and Spanish Honor Society. She was subsequently awarded a full scholarship to NYU, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Studies and Chemistry at New York University. While at NYU, she was a member of the International Honors Society in Psychology, Psi Chi. She was in her second year at PACE University pursuing her Doctorate in Psychology. She was employed at Rennicke and Associates which specializes in assisting persons with mental health challenges. She also shadowed a Child Psychologist at the New York University Child Study Center. She was a passionate advocate and fundraiser for the Lupus Foundation of America.
Roxy's energy and presence was magnetic. She built lifelong friendships and she always made it a point to prioritize spending quality time with the people that she loved. She always strived to make a difference in any and every way that she could and through this innate characteristic she found her passion in wanting to help others. Roxy loved freely and easily, and loving her was even more effortless. She truly was the most beautiful person both inside and out and she had the purest heart. Roxy's smile and laugh was infectious and she always had a knack for bringing people together with her exuberant spirit. She was incredibly family oriented and loved creating priceless and precious memories with her loved ones.
The loss we all feel is unexplainable and the pain we feel is immense. You are the favorite, you are the "wash belly", the "other drop of water", the bestie, the one to rely on, the one who will listen, and the one who loves no matter what. Your humility and the impact you made on everyone's lives is immeasurable. You had charm, spunk, attitude, class, humor, ambition, and charisma. Roxy, the legacy you left is our mission to continue. The void we all feel can never be filled but we promise to always keep the memory and essence of you with us. You will be missed immensely.
