RICHLANDS - Roy David Byrd, 17, of Richlands, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro Chapel with Pastor Jackie Hornage officiating.
Roy was born December 12, 2007 in Onslow County, NC to Denise and Amiel Myers. He was a loving son, brother, and friend. He was very smart and graduated high school at the age of 16 and was attending college to become an engineer.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Judy Thompson and his grandfather, Tony Thompson.
In addition to his parents, Denise and Amiel Myers of Richlands, he is survived by his siblings, Sean Andrew Myers (Tristen) of Greenville, Seth Eli Myers of Jacksonville and Tiffany Abigail Myers of Jacksonville; half-brothers, Maddox and Ryker Thompson both of Greenville, SC; grandparents, Ryan and Onagh Myers of Jacksonville, Terry and Patricia Piner-Pratt of Cedar Point, and George Byrd of Cape Carteret; aunts and uncles, Jessica and Paul Buchanan of Cape Carteret, Brittany Byrd and Patterson Swain of Beaufort, Aaron and Jill Myers of Jackson, TN, and Frederick Reinhardt of Spartanburg, SC; and several cousins to include a very close cousin, Christian Moreira.
He is also survived by his best friends, Isiah Rodriquez, Jerry Bradshaw, Julius Curtiss, Bradley Ruse, Elena Young, Dylan Smith, Arana Jones "Jaiden", David Jones, and Landon McDonald.
The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
