Roy Carlock

Roy A. Carlock, 54, of Sedalia, Missouri, died Sunday, May 8, 2022, at his home in Sedalia.
He was born April 19, 1968, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Lowell William Oscar Carlock Sr. and Patricia Ann Johnson Thorley Carlock.
Affectionately known as Spridal, Roy was the baby of the family, the youngest of eleven children. Roy worked in construction and landscaping. Building things with his hands and helping others with his talents came easy to him. He was a hard worker and was skilled at playing pool and fixing meat on the grill. He enjoyed preparing his weekly specialty of his homemade chicken and dumplings for the nieces and nephews. He shared his enjoyment of swimming with his sons, Roy Jr. and William.
Survivors include 2 sons, Roy Carlock Jr., Independence, Mo., and William Carlock, Independence, Mo.; 2 grandchildren, Roy Carlock III and Lillyan Carlock; 9 siblings, Mary Hoagland (David), Sedalia, Mo., Gregory Carlock, Sedalia, Mo., Candace Scurlock, Kingman, Arizona, Susan Shelton, Sedalia, Mo., Elizabeth Clutts (Steven), Sedalia, Mo., Senta Boykin, Alabama, Patricia Strange (John), Ironton, Mo., William Carlock, Ironton, Mo., and Thomas Carlock, Ironton, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He as preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Jane Campbell.
