Roy Edward Green, born on May 15, 1937, in Ajo, Arizonia passed away on May 10, 2025, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. He was a skilled carpenter who dedicated his life to the arts of building and craftsmanship, channeling his passion into every project he undertook. Over the years, Roy became known for his exceptional woodworking skills, often found joyfully immersed in his workshop.
In addition to his carpentry work, Roy enjoyed spending time outdoors, with fishing and camping being among his favorite pastimes. His love for nature provided him with serenity and inspiration, reflecting the same care and dedication he brought to his family and community.
Roy bravely served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1960, a period that shaped much of his character and values. His commitment to service extended beyond his military years, as he always sought to lend a helping hand to those around him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Charlene Green; his children, Jack Green (Jill), Larry Green, and Laura Layman; stepson, Rick Nordblad (Peggy); and his cherished siblings, Kenny Casebolt, Elyse Smith, Linda Kibler, and Debbie Engle. Roy was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, leaving behind multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever remember his love and guidance.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Joseph Green; mother, Isabelle May Green (Lafferty); brother, Noel Green and sister, Claudette Beach; and stepdaughter Raelene White (Nordblad).
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky for their compassionate care during Roy’s final days. A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date, honoring the legacy and memory of an extraordinary man who touched the lives of many.
