Roy Edward Hubert Dorty

"Roy" Edward Hubert Dorty, Jr., age 43, was born to the late Brenda Jones and Roy E. Hubert Dorty, Sr., in Lake Charles, LA, on April 7, 1982. departed this life peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025. He was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, before relocating to Lake Charles several years ago. He loved church and singing in the choir, with his favorite song being "His Eye Is On The Sparrow." Roy was a graduate of Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, LA. furthered his education in Cosmetology and became an awesome Hairstylist. He was an author, with a passion for writing and a book in progress. Roy was a kind, compassionate and giving man who loved people and enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed quality time with family and friends having a good time and a lot of laughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Roy leaves in God's care to cherish his loving memory, his siblings, many aunts and uncles in the Lake Charles, LA, Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX and New York area as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family and close friends.
