Services for Roy Alex Jensen, 78, of Indianola, who passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in Ankeny, will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Roy was born on November 27, 1946 the son of Alex and Arlene (Hatcher) Jensen. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy for a short time during Vietnam. Roy worked as a tire technician. Roy had lived in Mason City, Plymouth, Belle Plaine and Indianola before recently moving to Ankeny to be closer to his family. He died while battling and long-term illness of cancer.

Roy enjoyed karaoke, bowling, fishing, going up to the bars and having a beer. He also enjoyed going out to eat and going to the movies with his family. Crouse Café, Lincoln Café, Village Court and IHOP were the favorite family breakfast locations.

He is survived by his children, Christine (Mark) Bond, Daniel (Natasha) Jensen and Brook (Rich) Formanek; grandchildren, Brianna Griffith and Gavyn Formanek; sister, Helen (Frank) Gavin; special friends Bill and Margaret Moore and his companions, cats Buddy and Fuzzy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Arlene Jensen and brothers, Bob and Dennis Jensen.
