Roy Lee Jones passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville, surrounded by his loving family. He was 72. Roy was born on January 1, 1952, in Washington, MO, to Eugene G. Jones and Zelma (Ficke) Jones. He grew up in humble beginnings on the family farm, one of sixteen children. He learned the value of hard work and dedication at an early age and carried those qualities throughout his life. He was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend, deeply loved by his wife, children, family, and friends.

Roy was united in marriage to Kerri (Woolley) Hoover on August 9, 2008, at the Crossroads Baptist Church, and they spent their time together exploring yard sales, going to the casinos, eating out at various restaurants, and taking care of their property on Highway EE outside of Belle. Roy never gave up in any situation, and no matter what, he looked out for his family and those closest to him when they needed him. He tried to see the light in any given situation, even when they couldn’t. No one can fill Roy’s shoes, but we know he will always be with us, watching over us daily.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Kerri, of the home; daughters: Susan Mitchell of New Haven, Ashley Jones of Canaan, Alyssa Vaughn and husband Brian of Linn, and Jewel Jones and significant other Austin Clark of Union; sons: Stacy Jones of New Haven, Chris Jones of New Haven; stepdaughter: Kayci Hoover-Doss and husband Brian of Belle; stepsons: Chris Michel and wife Andrea of Iowa, and Michael Jenkins.

He is also survived by sisters: Linda Fuhrmann of Jackson and Dixie Kriete of Owensville; brothers: Gary Jones of Belle, Rodger Jones and wife Donna of Gerald, Danny Jones and wife Jan of Bland, Jimmy Jones and wife Nancy of Owensville; sisters-in-law: Anne Jones of Owensville, Debbie Wright of Belle, Christi Lurk and husband Tom of Branson, Nichoel Snodgrass and husband Craig of Belle; brother-in-law Jonathan Woolley and wife Lisa of Vichy; mother-in-law Virginia Woolley of Belle; and numerous grandkids and great-grandkids that he adored.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Zelma Jones; sisters: Sylvia Dudley, Florence Wells, Mary Ann Thompson, Jessie Litton, and Carmelita Jones; brothers: Donald Jones, Ronald Jones, Mack Ridenhour, Charlie Jones; sisters-in-law: Zella Jones, Bonnie Jones, Terra Wright, Vicki Woolley, and Sherri Crider; brothers-in-law: Ronnie Wells and Danny Wright; and father-in-law: Harold Woolley.

Services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Crossroads Baptist Church on Highway B outside of Bland, where Roy was a member, with visitation from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and a prayer service following, officiated by Danny Jarvis. A meal will immediately follow services in the church basement. A memorial service will be held at a later date following cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Roy are suggested per the family's wishes, with envelopes available at the church on the day of his service.
