Roy Harold Marschall, age 71, of Shakopee, MN passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Roy was born October 29, 1953 in Shakopee, the son of Elmer and Kathryn (Krayna) Marschall. As the 5th generation on the Marschall Family Farm (established in 1862), Roy carried forward a proud agricultural legacy. The family farm continued to Poppler Dairy in Waverly, MN, where he continued his involvement in crop farming, his true passion.
Throughout the years, Roy was an outdoorsman at heart, finding joy in fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, skiing, and 4-wheeling. He was a devoted Nascar fan and a Trump supporter. Roy found his greatest happiness through doing fieldwork and hauling grain. His grandchildren will always cherish the memories of riding in the combine with Grandpa!
Roy's legacy lives on through his family and the love he shared for both farming and the outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Danita Marschall; children and grandchildren, Jason (Mary Pat) Marschall and Jake, Max, and Zach; Jenny (Harlan) Poppler, and Brett, Halli, Dani, Shayne, and Lilly; Kelly (Matt) Ripley, and Blake and Connor; and Matt (Jenna) Marschall, and Molly and Mason; brother, Fred (Jean) Marschall, sisters, Lori (Mike) Knuth, Chrysa Kostecka, and Mary Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Kathryn Marschall, his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Bob Hoyme, his brother, Steve Marschall, and brother-in-law, Steve Olson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider planting a tree in Roy's memory or making a donation to support the future of agriculture through the Minnesota FFA Foundation: https://www.mnffafoundation.org
A private family service will be held at a later date.
