Roy McGuire, 81, of Connersville went home to be with his heavenly father on August 12, 2024. He was born at home in rural Fayette County on February 25, 1943, he is the son of the late Willie McGuire and Margaret C. Austin McGuire.
On April 22, 1989 in Connersville, IN Roy married the love of his life, the former Beverly Jane "Janie" Hudelson. Together they celebrated 35 years of wedded bliss and were blessed to raise 5 children together.
After Roy graduated from high school he worked as a local famer, during this time he also enlisted in the Army National Guard. He later went to work in the manufacturing industry and was employed at Stants for 13 years and Visteon for 25 years. He also owned and operated his own business, McGuire's Agri-Electric located in Connersville.
Roy was one of a kind, He was a hard worker that loved the Lord, and was often known to volunteer his time to help others. Roy and his wife Janie were active members of Calvary Baptist Church. Roy actually taught for the Men's senior Sunday school class and he loved every minute of it. Roy loved working on tractors in his spare time, he also enjoyed attending and participating in steam and tractor shows. He was an involved sponsor to the Fayette County Free Fair. Roy was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his wife Janie, he is survived by his children; daughters, Kim (Jeff) Florio, Josie McGuire, son, Jeremy McGuire, and bonus son, Kenny Huntsman. He is survived by his sisters, Catherine Toler, Peggy Sue Somers-Bogan, and a sister-in-law Angela McGuire. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews. His memory will live on in his 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Roy was greeted into his eternal home by his parents, his in-laws, Donald and Roseann Hudelson, and his brothers, Carl and Gary McGuire. He is also preceded in death by two brothers- in-law Clyde Toler, Don Bogan, and a bonus son, Devon Huntsman.
Friends and family may gather on Wednesday August 14, 2024, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Urban Winkler Funeral Home located at 513 W 8th Street Connersville, IN. A funeral services will begin at 1:00PM with Pastor John Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
