Roy Allen Privott, age 92, passed away on the 24th of February 2024. He was born on February 16,1932 on a farm near Omega, Oklahoma to Clyde and Josie (McMillan) Privott. He attended the Alpha School District 78 grade school and graduated from Omega High School in 1950.
In October 1952 Roy was drafted into the U.S. Army and completed his service during the Korean War as a Corporal in the Army. After his military service he attended Oklahoma City University where he later graduated with a degree in electrical technology.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Clovis on February 27, 1955, and moved to
Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was employed with W.C. Norris Manufacturing. They later moved to
Yukon, OK and he began his career with Western Electric. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, a charter member of JAYS (Junior Athletics of Yukon Sports) and served on the Board and Building Committee for a decade at First United Methodist Church of Yukon, where he attended with his family for over 30 years.
Roy retired from Western Electric (Att/Lucent) in 1989, where he worked in the plant engineering department as an electrical engineer. He and Dolores moved to the Spanish Cove Retirement Community in 2003. He spent a very active and engaged life with the Cove community. He enjoyed golf, pool and leading his neighbors in lively horseshoe tournaments. He spent many years participating and serving on the Yukon Horseshoe Club where he participated at the national level.
Survived by family: son Steve Privott and wife Joan of Edmond, OK; and daughter Karen Privott Schultz and husband Steve of
Woodside, California; and his dear friend Lois Lawson. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Zachary Privott and wife Karen of Chandler, OK and children Joshua, Reagan and Elijah; Katie Privott Scaling and husband Matt and children Carter and Cooper; Blake Schultz and wife Maddy of
Austin, Texas and children Olivia and Camille; Reid Schultz and his wife Morgan of
San Mateo, California; and Parker Schultz of San Diego. Survived also by his brother Norman and wife Pat of Mustang and sister-in-law Joy Clovis of Houston. He is predeceased by his parents, loving wife Dolores, brother Eugene (Ike) and brother-in-law Aaron Clovis.
Viewing will be held 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m,, Friday, March 1,2024 and Saturday, March 2 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at the Yukon Cemetery, March 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with a celebration of life service following at the Spanish Cove Retirement Community, Huff Plaza at 2:00 p.m., 1401 S. Cornwell Drive,
Yukon, OK.
