Roy E. Snyder, 84, of New Providence, entered into rest on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at his home. Born in New Providence, he was a son of the late George R., and Florence (Byers) Snyder. Roy and his late wife, Barbara A. (Leaman) Snyder had celebrated 62 years of marriage at the time of her passing.
After graduating from Solanco High School in 1959, Roy served his country in the U.S. Army. Following discharge, he worked at the former Daffin MFG. Co. for 10 years. Roy then went on to work and retire as an electrician from PPL at the Holtwood Power Plant after 30 years of service.
Roy loved to travel and was an avid hunter. He was a life member and charter member of the Wanagan Hunting Camp in Clearfield County. Roy was a Patriot member in the N.R.A., a life member in the Unified Sportsman Association, and a life member in the PA Federation of Sportsman Clubs. Roy also enjoyed trap shooting and was an active member of the Southern Lancaster County Farmer-Sportsman Association; along with numerous other Sportsman's Clubs.
Surviving are sisters, Kathryn Rhineer and Miriam Graeff. Roy is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
A Funeral Service will take place at Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 227 W. 4th Street, Quarryville, PA on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow in the New Providence Mennonite Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
