Roy Lamont Sparkman, 77 of Glen Burnie passed away on March 18, 2024. Roy was born on January 18, 1947 in Baltimore to the late Curtis and Marguerite Sparkman. Along with his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Sparkman; his brothers, Warren Sparkman, Dean Sparkman and Alan Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Sparkman; his brother, Arthur Sparkman and his sister, Debbie Bernardi.

 

Roy was known for his dedication and service to his country, having proudly served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1968. Throughout his life, Roy found joy in simple pleasures. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, crabbing, boating, and he had a deep appreciation for bluegrass music. These interests brought him closer to nature and provided moments of tranquility in his busy life. Roy was also an avid Baltimore Colts fan.
 
Roy will be fondly remembered by his surviving family members and friends. While he may no longer be with us, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

 

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Wednesday, March 27th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
