Roy passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Bay Shore Nursing Home at the age of 91. The son of the late Ernest and Clara (Lutz) Sturm was born December 21, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan. Roy served in the National Guard and was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and retired from Dow Chemical Company. Roy enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting and gardening.
Roy is survived by his son, Eldon Leroy Sturm; daughter, Tammy; two brothers, Adolph Sturm and Gilbert (Marcie) Sturm; his friendly neighbor that always kept an eye on him, Deb and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Sturm; one daughter, Donna Jean Sturm; one brother, Herbert Sturm and two sisters, Verna Sturm and Hilda Sturm.
Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 33rd Street, Bay City, MI 48708. Officiating will be Pastor Joel Pankow. Private interment will follow at Fremont Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the Gephart Funeral Home from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Choir.
