Roy Wayne Taylor "Ranger Roy", 81, of Etters, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025, at UPMC West Shore Hospital. Born October 24, 1944, in Dover, DE, he was a son of the late John Wallace Taylor and Myrtle Pearl (Ransom) Taylor. Roy was the loving husband of Kathy Lynn (Gelnett) Taylor, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage.

Roy was a graduate of Central Bucks High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University's main campus. He devoted his career to public service, working as a civil engineer for both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and FEMA until his retirement.

Roy approached life with quiet enthusiasm and a gentle spirit. He loved to golf and was equally content watching the game from home. A loyal supporter of Penn State football, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Nittany Lions. He also had a well-known fondness for blueberry pie, a simple joy that never failed to brighten his day.

In addition to his wife Kathy, Roy leaves behind his 4 sons, Roy Wayne Taylor, Jr. (wife Sharon), Kevin Taylor, David Taylor, and Tyler Robbins (wife Kaitlyn); his 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Jeremy (wife Melinda), and Levi; his sister-in-law, Pat Taylor; 6 great-grandchildren; and nephews, Darren (Amy) and Artie (Kim); several great-nieces; great-nephews; and wonderful friends and golf buddies; and his "baby girl" Mia, his beloved dog.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy "Tucker" Taylor; his niece, Tammy; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and 1 great-grandchild.

Thursday, December 11, 2025, 2PM at Hetrick Bitner Funeral Home, Inc., 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home from 1PM-2PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
