Royce Jones, a cherished member of the Woodrun Community, passed away peacefully in his home on January 26, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on February 25, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee, Royce lived a life filled with devotion to family, career, and faith.
Royce dedicated 30 years of his professional life to International Harvester, culminating in his retirement as a Manufacturing Engineer in 1996. His commitment to excellence in his field served as an inspiration to many and left a lasting impact on those he worked with.
Throughout his life, Royce was not only a devoted professional but also a man of deep faith. He was an active member of Middleton Church of Christ, where he contributed to the community and formed lasting friendships built on mutual respect and shared beliefs.
A passionate fisherman, Royce found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature and the serenity of the water. He also had a love for travel, which took him around the world, allowing him to experience diverse cultures and landscapes.
Royce took great pride in his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Karen, since August 22, 2002, and together they created a warm and loving home. He is remembered by Karen, as well as his son, Perry Alan Jones, and his sister, Joyce Shelby, along with Joyce's husband, Gilbert, his nephew Lee Shelby and wife Sherrie, all of whom will deeply miss his presence. Royce is also survived by a legacy of memories that will continue to resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Howard Jones and Arlene Shappley Jones, who provided him with a strong foundation in life.
As we remember Royce Jones, we celebrate his lifetime of achievements, his unwavering commitment to his family, and the countless lives he touched during his time with us. His memory will forever remain a guiding light for those he loved and who loved him in return.
