Zeke Singleton, born on May 22, 1957, in Bolivar, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Selmer, Tennessee. He was 68 years old and left a lasting legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Zeke dedicated a significant part of his life to the service of his community, working for the County street department until his retirement. Earlier in his career, he also gained valuable experience in construction during his time in Chicago, Illinois. His work ethic and commitment to his job were admired by colleagues and friends alike, showcasing his strong character and reliability.
Zeke is remembered not only for his professional contributions but also for the love and support he offered to his family. He is survived by his dear sisters, Brenda Parchman of Hornsby and Bernie Edwards of Pocahontas, nieces, Shannon Edwards and Ellen Burford, and his nephews, Jeremy and Gary Edwards. Zeke also leaves behind a host of great nieces and great nephews, who will remember him fondly and carry his spirit with them.
He was preceded in death by his father John Ed Singleton, his mother Della Newman Singleton, his sister, Viola Patrick, his brother, Wilburn Singleton, half brother, "Cricket" Singleton, and his nephew, Brandon Edwards. Their memories live on through Zeke's resilience and profound impact on those around him.
A visitation will be held on December 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Middleton, TN. A further visitation will take place on December 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service, which will begin at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Zeke will find his final resting place at Reaves Cemetery in Middleton, TN.
Zeke Singleton will be dearly missed, yet his memory will forever remain alive in the hearts and stories of those who had the privilege to know him. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
