Royce Eugene Veal

Mr. Royce Eugene Veal, 89, of Glendale Drive, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at his home.
Born on February 19, 1933 in Lithonia, GA, he was the son of the late Roy Carnell Veal and Margaret Farmer Veal. Mr. Veal was a retired pharmacist where he worked in Lincolnton, GA and Lavonia. He was also a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he was a choir member, and visited the home-bound members & members in nursing homes. Royce was also a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife: Jane Lewis Teasley Veal of the home; son: Rev. Richard N. Veal (Robin) of Williamson, GA; two daughters: Judy V. Eavenson (Mike) of Elberton and Sandra Teasley Leard of Bowman; one brother: Robert Veal (Diane) of Elberton; one sister: Sara Ellen Ruff of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren: Ryan Veal (Amy) and Hannah Williams (Austin); and six great grandchildren: Brayden Eavenson, Landon Williams, Emily Kate Veal, Ava Grace Veal, Bradley Williams, and Bodie Williams. Mr. Veal is preceded in death by his parents; one step-son: Chandler Dale Teasley; and one grandchild: Brad Eavenson.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Other times the family will be at the home.
A service with military honors for Mr. Royce Veal's will be held Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Jacob Webb and Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating. It was Mr. Veal's wishes to be cremated following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt. Olivet Rd, Hartwell, GA 30643.
