Mr. Roy Dale Massey, age 68, of Franklin, KY entered into rest on Friday, March 7, 2025 at his home in Franklin, KY.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held the same day, Monday, March 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.
Roy was born on October 18, 1956 in Bowling Green, KY to the late Truman Massey and the late Clarice Dennison. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Petty, Larry Petty, and Donald Faye Petty.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathy Cockrell Massey; four children, Christy Massey (Michael Doaks), Ricky Massey (Carey), Rob Massey, and Amy Graves (Michael); thirteen grandchildren, Marcus Doaks (Katie), Casey Doaks (Tyson Phillips), Molly, Annie, and Harrison Massey, Ayla Massey, Katelyn Massey, and Saul, Noah, Bella, Izzy, Elijah, and Maya Graves; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe Doaks, Jasper, Brylee, and Nokel Doaks, Zayden and Jamila Garrett, and Kaia Hudson; a sister, Sonya Massey Stamps; and several extended family members.
Roy was a graduate of Warren East High School and a member of West Madison Baptist Church. He was a Plant Operator with Triple K Construction, where he worked for thirty-two years. Roy enjoyed being surrounded by his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing basketball well into his adult years and was a lifelong University of Kentucky basketball fan.
