Mountain Valley MortuaryIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruben Philip Bettale Sr., who departed this life on October 17, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on July 23, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, Ruben made his home in Monte Vista, where he was known for his quiet demeanor, strong work ethic, and love for family and community.
Ruben was a dedicated auto painter in the auto body industry, taking immense pride in his work and contributing to the craft with skill and passion. Beyond his profession, he cherished his family, leaving behind a loving spouse, Esther Martinez, and his four children: Ruben Bettale Jr., Desiree Bettale, Ryan Bettale, and Nick Bettale. Ruben was also the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Bertha and Ruben Bettale as well as his sister Teresa Bettale.
A devout Christian, Ruben's faith was a guiding force in his life. He sought counsel from the "guy upstairs" and instilled those values in his loved ones. He was also known for his love of gardening, enjoying the beauty of his yard and flowers, which reflected the care and dedication he put into all aspects of his life. He had a deep appreciation for nature, often spending time fishing and relishing the simplicity of the outdoors.Ruben's love extended beyond his immediate family; he formed strong bonds with his wife’s family, who cherished him in return. His impact on their lives will be remembered as a testament to the love and kindness he shared.
Cremation was selected and a service to honor Ruben’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 8, 2025 at the Mountain Valley Mortuary in Monte Vista. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Ruben’s legacy and offer their condolences.
Let us remember Ruben for his unwavering spirit, devotion to his family, and the gentleness he brought to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
