Ruben ‘Nuno’ Chairez Jr., a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away on September 28, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. Born on June 4, 1996, Ruben brought joy and love to the lives of his family and friends. His outgoing personality and love for laughter touched the hearts of all who knew him. Nuno loved all of his family, he had a special bond with his grandmother, Maria and his beautiful niece, Eliynna.
He is survived by his mother, Elena Padilla; grandmother, Maria Padilla; grandmother, Mary Ann Dominguez; sisters, Dolores and Deszariah Mendoza; his adored niece, Eliynna; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ruben is preceded in death by his grandfather, Fidel Padilla; aunt, Irma Padilla; uncle, Fidel Padilla Jr; cousin, Mary Helen Flores; father, Ruben Chairez; grandfather, Ernest Chairez; and friend, Ezekiel Gonzales.
In honor of Ruben's life, his family will receive friends and family from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Combest Oakcrest Suite at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, October 6, 2023, at The Venue on Broadway, just next to Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock.
Ruben's kind, generous spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace.
