Ruben George

Ruben George, a longtime resident of Turlock, California, passed away on August 4, 2025, in Modesto, California. He was 83 years old. Ruben was born on May 22, 1942, in Hamedan, Iran. During his early years, he lived in Kermanshah and Qazvin, Iran. In July 1968, he married his beloved wife, Marouse George, in Tehran. In Iran, Ruben worked as an estimator contributing to the development of factories. After immigrating to the United States, he settled in Turlock, California, where he pursued a career as a general contractor until his retirement in 2000. Ruben was an active member of the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock and found great joy singing in the choir. He was also a devoted member of St. Thomas Catholic Assyrian Church in Turlock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Babajan Badelbou and Ciranoush Tatavosian. Ruben is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marouse; his children, Juliet George, Janet Palmore (Malcom), and Gilbert George; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Vardeh, Daniel Palmore, Nathan Palmore, Eliana Palmore, Abigail George, and Gabriel George. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Turlock Funeral Home. Following the service, Ruben will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park. The family invites all attendees to join them for a luncheon at Larsa Banquet Hall following the burial service.
