Ruben Pecina, also known as Cue or Pecinita, went to rest with the Lord on January 23, 2025, at the age of 76.
Ruben was born on September 1, 1948 in Royse City, TX. to Roy and Maria Concepcion Pecina. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the true definition of a loyal, humble and God-fearing man.
As a child he would help his parents and siblings pick cotton. Once he became a teenager, he was enlisted into the military, and was drafted into the Army where he fought in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970. He earned a total of 7 medals while in the Army, one being the Purple Heart. When he returned from the Army, he worked to help out his parents. He always had a love for music, dancing, fishing, and his family.
Ruben is reunited in Heaven by his parents, Roy and Maria Pecina, sister, Guadalupe Deleon, brothers, Anthony Pecina and Gilbert Pecina.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 51 years, Sandra L Pecina, sons, Ruben Pecina Jr., Johnny A. Pecina and his wife Martha M. Pecina, daughters, Veronica Pecina and Adriana Pecina. Ruben also leaves behind his grandchildren: Timothy Pecina, Tabitha Pecina, Jacob Salmeron, Madelyn Pecina, and great-granddaughter: Alyssa Cavazos.
Throughout the years that he was on earth, he gave his life to Christ and helped at his church. He was known at his church as the "Candyman". This was his way of communicating with the youth and spreading joy to others. He was truly one of a kind and our hero. He will truly be missed, although he is no longer with us, he'll always be in our hearts.
