They started a family and were blessed with the following children: Karen, Kay, Todd, Roxanne, and Wendy.
Rubert worked alongside his wife taking care of the family farm; his long-term career was driving semi-truck. They enjoyed some travels around the country.
Rubert enjoyed good food, good friends, and a good beer. He also enjoyed playing cards and a good game of cribbage. Rubert loved his family and had a soft heart under his rough exterior. He was also known as Grumpy Grandpa and Rupe the Snoop.
Rubert is survived by his loving wife Avis Pangerl; children Kay (Duane) Johnson of Braham, Roxanne (Les) Orvis of Braham, Wendy Tchida of Pine City; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
