Dunn, NC: Mrs. Ruby Lois Altman Lucas, age 79, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn, NC. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 10:00AM to 10:45AM in the sanctuary of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church in Benson, NC. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM-Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in the Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Benson. Rev. Darren Bantz will officiate.
Mrs. Lucas was born on March 27, 1946 in Harnett County, NC, to the late Delma Frank and Velma Beasley Altman. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Jo Wood; sisters, Frances Jeanette Altman Barnes and Melva Rose Altman Blackmon; and brother-in-law, Larry Charles Evans. Mrs. Lucas was known by her nickname “Boss” because her baby sister, Glenda couldn’t pronounce her name Lois. She enjoyed eating at Bojangles and singing gospel songs at home karaoke style. Mrs. Lucas worked at the Piggly Wiggly Meat Department and Norris Frozen Custard in Dunn for many years. She loved all her family and friends. Mrs. Lucas talked often about her daughter, Kim who was in heaven, she was ready to go home and see her.
Surviving is her sister, Glenda Ann Altman Evans of Dunn; granddaughters, Taylor Rae Allen and Andrea Michelle Allen; great-grandchildren, Mayleigh Ann and Cameron; several nieces and nephews.
