Mrs. Ruby Jewel Barnes-Bacon was born in Morrilton AR on December 3,1940. Ruby is the 3rd of 11 children born to the late Bennie and Louisa Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Aretias Bacon Jr. whom she married April 18, 1986 and was happily married until his death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters, Jermiah Barnes, Joseph Barnes, David Barnes, Ben Barnes, Murlee Barnes-Perry, Mary Barnes-Price, Mildred Barnes-Hill, and Annie Barnes-Foster.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She united with the Rose Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. George Waters Jr.
Ruby loved to garden, and as Ruby would always say "l have a nice patch of greens coming up". Ruby loved to fish and go to flea markets. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Ruby will be missed by all that knew her. Ruby leaves to cherish her memory 4 children, Diane Murray Pine Bluff AR, Will Green (Jackie) Pine Bluff AR, Lavern Love (Conrad) Oklahoma City, OK, Michael Green (Mary) Pine Bluff, AR (Her Care Givers). Two Sisters, Maxine Barnes, Morrilton, AR, and Margaret Barnes, Little Rock, AR. 18 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home Pine Bluff, AR.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church Pine Bluff, AR by Dr. Clarence L. Holman. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery Pine Bluff, AR by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR.
