Ruby Batterman Obituary Ruby Elaine (White) Batterman, 75, formerly of Ogallala, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at Hemingford Community Care Center in Hemingford, NE where she resided the last four years.
Ruby was born on December 29, 1948, in Grant Nebraska to Kenneth and Esther (Dorrow) White.
Ruby grew up helping her father with ranching. Ruby graduated from High School in 1967 from Lewellen, Ne. Ruby met Gary Ribble and married in 1967. From this union they had Lisa (Ribble) Anderson and Mark Ribble. The couple later divorced. Ruby met Bob Batterman and married in 1999 residing in Ogallala, NE until moving to Beatrice Care Center in 2018. After the passing of her husband, Bob, Ruby moved to Hemingford to be closer to family in 2020. Ruby was well known in Ogallala; working for Dairy Queen, Ogallala Hospital, Hokes Caf, Pump-n-pantry, Union 76, Castles and Shopko. Ruby loved to serve the public. She met many people from different walks of life and enjoyed helping others. Ruby loved to garden. She enjoyed cooking and canning. Ruby also loved to watch football, especially the Husker. She would be cheering on the team for a hopeful victory.
Ruby is survived by her children: daughter Lisa (Darren) Anderson of Lewellen; son, Mark (Candace) Ribble of Alliance. Stepchildren: Debbie Batterman; Chet Batterman. Grandchildren: Michelle (Scott) Kilsdonk; Ryan (Kaitlyn) Anderson; Joel Anderson; Corry Ribble; Madison Ribble; Step grandchildren: Taressa (Samuel) Mendoza; Taiton Benham; Tevon Benham; Many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews;
Ruby was preceded in death by parents Kenneth and Esther White, brother Lloyd White; husband Gary Ribble; husband Bob Batterman; stepdaughter Roxanne Batterman. Ruby was well loved wherever she went, leaving many cherished memories.
Visitation will be held, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 1:00 to 5 p.m. in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15th, 2024 in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala immediately followed by Interment in the Hollow Cemetery in Lewellen, NE, with Pastor Cliff Transmeier of the New Beginnings Church of Nazarene of Scottsbluff, NE. officiating. Following the graveside service the family would like to invite all for Rubys celebration of life luncheon at the Tiger Den in Lewellen, NE.
A memorial has been established to the Tiger Den in Lewellen, NE.
