Ruby Bridges

Ruby Jean Gray Bridges, age 77, wife of Raymond Stanley Bridges of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Born on February 22, 1946 in Maury County, Tennessee, Ruby was the daughter of the late Marion Estes Gray and the late Rosie Lee Lemay Gray of Mt. Pleasant, Tn.
She married her one true lifelong love, Raymond Stanley Bridges on July 22, 1961. Stanley and Ruby raised their four kids in Mt. Pleasant, Tn. She spent her life taking care of others as a CNA. Her caring spirit and heart carried over to her family. Nothing made her happier than being with her family as much as she could, especially on holidays. Anyone that knew her knows she had the biggest, most amazing Christmas for everyone every year. She enjoyed being with her kids and grandkids and cooking the most amazing meals and having family get togethers. You couldn't ask for a better teacher about life whether it be cooking, raising babies or cleaning house, she gladly helped all of us learn how to be parents and take care of our families. She gave so much of her time to others, always working so hard to make sure we were all okay. She sacrificed many hours of sleep to help with sick babies or family members or whatever she could help you with. She truly gave everything she had to the ones she loved. She taught us things you can't learn in school.
In addition to her loving husband Stanley, she is survived by her children: son Bruce (Debra) Bridges of Mt. Pleasant, daughter Diane (Paul) Hunley of Gallatin, son Terry of Mt. Pleasant and son Joey of Mt. Pleasant and daughter in law Melissa Bridges. Her precious grandkids, Justin (Rainey) Bridges of Talladega, Alabama, Allison Bridges of Mt. Pleasant, Connor Bridges of Mt. Pleasant, Kimmy Bridges of Mt. Pleasant, T.J. Bridges of Columbia, and Abby Bridges of Mt. Pleasant. Two adorable great grandsons, Jaxon and Evander Bridges of Talladega, Alabama, brother in law Kenneth Powell of Mt. Pleasant, sister in law Janice Bridges of Hohenwald, family friend Sara Lucy Dale of Mt. Pleasant and several special cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marion Estes Gray and Rosie Lemay Gray, brothers Sterling Gray, William Ed Gray and James Gray. Her sisters Betty Gray Powell & Flora Bell Gray Wiseman.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Bridges, Brian Gray, Jeff Gray, Caleb Gray, Robert Beckenbach, and Mike Gaddes.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service for Ruby will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Randy Kersey officiating at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Ruby will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens.
