Ruby “Red” Elsmore Gilliam 90, widow of William McKinley Gilliam, Jr., resident of 201 McDonald Street, Whitmire, SC died on January 19, 2025.
She retired from Monsanto. She was a lifetime member of Whitmire United Methodist Church. Born in Whitmire, February 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William Ray Elsmore and Letha Malone Elsmore of Whitmire, SC.
Mrs. Gilliam was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth “Blackie” Elsmore Gilliam, Carrie Frances Elsmore Reid, Pauline “Polly” Elsmore Brank, Hazeline Wilbanks and Billy Elsmore.
Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Lynn Gilliam Culbreth (Danny) of Clinton, Billie Jo Gilliam Shouse (Alston) of Kinards and Robin Rae Gilliam Senn (Craig) of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Dana Lynn Culbreth Carpenter (Marty) of Trenton, Stephanie Rae Senn English (Jason) of Clinton, Christina Alexas Shouse Underwood (Wesley) of Waterloo, Kimberly Diann Culbreth Flemming (Jeremy) of Greenville, Chase McKinley Shouse (Caitlin) of Belton, William Kyle Senn (Taylor) of Clinton and Auston Eugene Shouse (Marissa) of West Columbia; ten great-grandchildren, Dylan Thomas English, Bryce Matthew English, Rebecca Lynn Carpenter, Kynli Marie English, Adam Thomas Carpenter, William Forrest Senn, Ella Imogene Underwood, Alex Wesley Underwood, Samuel Reid Flemming, and Alston William Shouse.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Whitmire United Methodist Church with visitation from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the sanctuary.Rev. Mary Nichols, Rev. Ken Weaver and Mr. Jesse Baker will be officiating the service.A private burial will be at a later date at the Whitmire Cemetery.
