Ruby Lou Haffer, nee Moses, of Steelville, MO was born on Thursday, February 19, 1948 in Prairie Du Rocher, IL to Clarence Newton Moses and Eva "Louise" Moses (nee Blair). She passed away at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 26 days.
Ruby went to Valley High School in Caledonia, MO. She married the love of her life, Allen "Dale" Haffer on June 4, 1965 in Berryman, MO and to this union three children were born. After they were married, they lived in O'Fallon, MO and St. Peters, MO before returning to Steelville, MO in 1991. She worked at hospitals and nursing homes for many years, but her main job was being a homemaker where she enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a "Jill of all trades." She enjoyed to landscape, work in her flower beds and to garden. She loved to write poetry, paint, sing and listen to country music. She was quite the seamstress and could sew or quilt anything. Ruby loved to cook and entertain. She was the glue to her family, made sure everyone got together and that no one left hungry. She enjoyed genealogy and family research. Ruby had a heart of gold and was a natural caregiver. She believed in giving others 2nd and 3rd chances, never spoke badly of anyone and was quick to remind others that no one knows other people's story. Ruby enjoyed being at home, feeding the birds and scaring squirrels off with her cowbell. Most of all, Ruby loved her family and they were what was the most important to her. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Louise Moses; parents-in-law Claude and Marple Haffer; siblings George Moses, Cleatis Moses, Hadley Moses, Phyllis Justus and Carl Moses; brothers-in-law Albert "Don" Mitchell, Lanny "Gilbert" Haffer, Norville Haffer and Merlin Haffer; sisters-in-law Pauline Moses, Paula "Darlene" Brewer, Cleta Haffer and Ruth Haffer; many beloved nieces and nephews.

I've known Ruby for 45 year's. She has been such a special person in my life. I've always adored her. I grew up with Rod, Randy and of course my friend for life Tonya. Her gorgeous blue eyes were always so welcoming! I miss her so much and love her dearly!
