Ruby Harden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anniston Memorial Funeral Home on Dec. 31, 2025.
Funeral services to celebrate a remarkable century of life for Mrs. Ruby Martin Harden, 100, of Wellington, will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Rev. Ken Phillips will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 4-6 PM and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Ruby will be laid to rest in Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Our beloved mother, Ruby, "won her ultimate healing", and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Tollie Harden, Sr.; her sister, Patricia Burnham; her brother, Travis Martin; her parents, J.D. and Jewel Martin; and her son-in-law, Michael Godwin.
Ruby leaves a family who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love, of which include her five children, Tollie Harden (Sherron), Renee Boozer (Roger), Brenton Harden (Kay), Denton Harden (Barbara), and Kay Cox (Danny); her sister, Doris Harrelson; eleven grandchildren, Wendy Anderson (Billy), Michelle Prickett (Lance), Martin Harden (Naomi), Stacey McLeod (John), Casey Cochran (Corey), Tara McLaughlin (Mark), Michael Harden (Jennifer), Alicia Forrest (Jeremy), Erin Vinson (Shane), Justin Cox (Breanna), and David Boozer; thirty-three great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; sister in law, Diane Marler and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ruby was a devoted Christian and very strong in her faith. She loved her Lord and Savior, which was exhibited by how she treated others. Ruby was the oldest active member of Duke First Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in Calhoun County where she worked as a nurse (LPN) for several doctors, also working on private duty and for NEARMC in Anniston, until she retired in her 70's. She was the bedrock of her family and was known for her care for others, her famous fried apple pies, and her beautiful homemade quilts. Throughout her life, Ruby gave many of her quilts to others. She participated in "secret pals" and many loved when she drew their name because they knew she would present them with one of her special quilts she had made the following year.
Ruby's legacy will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed but forever remembered.
Pallbearers will be Tristan Anderson, Luke Vinson, Aidan Cochran, Jace Harden, Cleat Forrest, and Andrew McLeod.
