Ruby Lee Stephens Johnson transitioned into her new life on January 31, 2025. Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Saturday, February 8, 2029, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.
Ruby was born on July 14, 1945, to Eraces Stephens, Sr. and Roberta Wesley Stephens in the rural community of Milam County, Yarrellton, Texas. Ruby was the seventh child born into that union. She attended Elemtary school in Yarrellton. The family later moved to Cameron, TX where she attended school at O.J. Thomas High School. In the mid 60's she worked in the kitchen at The Texan Restaurant. She later proceeded to work at the Cameron Nursing Home as a custodian for many years. From 1984-2015 she worked for Mrs. Marion Cooly and Mr. Steele Cooley. She was Colin Cooley's Nanny for many years.
Ruby confessed Christ at an early age. She was an active member at Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rufus Glynn, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eraces Stephens, Sr. & Roberta Wesley Stephens, son William James Johnson, Jr. (Buck) and seven siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Angelia K. Obryant. Sisters, Ruthie Lee Stephens, Thadys Stephens, and Thelma Walker, brother, Eraces Stephens, Jr. (Vivian) all of Cameron, and a very, very dear friend, Mrs. Marion Cooley. Grandchildren, Terrell Stephens, Andreus O'Bryant, De'Ante O'Bryant, Denodus O'Bryant, Jamione Johnson and a host of Great Grand-children, Nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
