Ruby Edna Kiser, a remarkable woman whose life was characterized by strength, love, and dedication, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at the age of 93. Born November 30, 1931, in Sorrento, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Martin and Anna Andrews Martin.
A proud veteran, Ruby served her country in the Army as a member of the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War. Her service exemplified her bravery and commitment, traits she held dear throughout her life. After her military service, she embarked on a fulfilling career as an LSM Operator with the Postal Service, from which she later retired.
Ruby was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bethpage, Tennessee. She was known for her caring and loving nature, often described as someone who would "give you the shirt off of her back." Her personality was marked by a blend of strength and stubbornness, qualities that endeared her to her family and friends alike.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Gregory Boswell; brothers Leroy Martin, Paul Martin, and William Martin; grandson Nathan Kerns; great great grandson James Grant III.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Michael (Debbie) Boswell and Aaron (Danielle) Kiser, along with her cherished grandchildren: Shannon Hurt, Amy Boswell, Gregory Boswell II, Sabreana Rich, Lydia Kiser, Caitlin (James) Grant, Gwyneth Kiser, Elizabeth (Joshua) Knight-Woods, David Knight, Jonathan Knight, Brynna Kiser, and Alayna Kiser. Ruby also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Zoey Grant, Evelina Adcock, Julia Grant, Zane Grant, Lauren Boswell, Alexis Boswell, Jordan Simmons, Brittany Hughes, Makenzi Hughes, Michael Hughes, Christian Boswell, Kohen Rich, Claudia Rich, and Willow Knight-Woods who is on the way. Her legacy continues with her great-great-grandchildren, Aiden Gibbs, Akira Lee, Ava Lee, Braxton Capolupo, and Laila Capolupo.
A visitation to celebrate Ruby's life will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Crestview Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation in Gallatin, Tennessee, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will follow at the same location, starting at 1:00 PM and concluding at 2:00 PM. A graveside service with military graveside honors is scheduled for the next day Friday, May 30, at 2:00 PM.
Ruby Kiser's life serves as an enduring example of resilience and compassion. She will be profoundly missed, yet fondly remembered by all who were touched by her warmth and spirit.
