Ruby H. Linkous

Ruby Phyllis Houff Linkous, 96, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Bridgewater Retirement Community.

She was born on March 13, 1929, in Augusta County to the late Hobert Lester and Eunice Loraine Rodeffer Houff.

Ruby dedicated many years of her career as an Administrative Assistant with various businesses.

Outside of her professional life, Ruby found great joy in cooking and bringing people together. She loved preparing meals, hosting gatherings, and entertaining family and friends. Ruby also had a passion for gardening and took great pride in tending to her flowers.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Jacob Linkous; her brother, Cletus Elwood Houff; and her sisters, Alda Marie Houff Bosserman and Geneva Alene Houff Ritchie.

A private burial will be held at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Bridgewater Retirement Community on Joy House for the compassionate care, support, and kindness shown to Ruby over the past four years. Their dedication meant a great deal to both Ruby and her family.
