Ruby Ann Maldonado, 85, of Zeigler, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ruby was born on August 19, 1939, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Goldie L. (Davis) Short and raised in Zeigler by her mother and stepfather, Harold Glen Short. She was united in marriage to Louis Maldonado at her parents' home in Zeigler, on September 17, 1965. They shared almost 60 years of marriage together.

Ruby was retired having been a longtime employee for Moreland-Bishop McDonalds Organization. She enjoyed gardening, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Louis Maldonado of Zeigler; three sons, Randy (Cindy) Raynor of Cleburne, Terry (Carol) Raynor of Christopher, Jerry (Lorianne) Raynor of Marion; one daughter, Patricia Maldonado of Zeigler; grandchildren, Derek (Brittany) Raynor, Daryl Raynor, Nathan Raynor, Amanda (Chris) Procise, Mercedez Maldonado, Ryan Francis, Jennifer (Greg) Pulley, Chad (Brianna) Francis; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jenson, Issac, Caden, Slade, Bryson, Isiah, Noah, Emerson, Evan, Addison, Danilee, Grant, and Hayden; one sister, Glenda Horton of Christopher. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents; mother-in-law, Maria Maldonado; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Horton & Joe Maldonado; sister-in-law, Hilda Maldonado.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Zeigler City Cemetery with Pastor Mike DeVito officiating.

Vantrease-Pyle Funeral Home of Zeigler is entrusted with the arrangements.
