Ruby Jean McCray, 85, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Gulfport.
She was born in Prentiss, MS to Moris Mallard and Mandy Mallard. She was employed by Garden Park Hospital as a supervisor of housekeeping for over 30 years. Her hobbies were gardening, fishing and cooking.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Elijah McCray and a sibling, Helen Watts, Jimmy Mallard and Castall Mallard.
Survivors include her children Anqunette White and Michelle Hawthorne; grandchildren, Victoria Adams, Jessica Horn, Demario White, Charles White IV, Edward White, Alfy Ray Adams and Tonya Adams; greatgrandchildren, Taylor Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Carmen Cooper, Reshaud Adams, Jocelyn Horn, Leonardo Dicky, Jaderick Seeden, Mia White, Amari Smith, Kmari Herrin and Jaila White; siblings, Willie Watts (Tina), Anna Watts, Doris Sue Watts; goddaughter Janice Howard and a friend, Mrs. Mattie Madden.
Pallbearers will be Jaylan Fountain, Jaylan Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Coop Cooper, Devin Horton and Stephen Horton.
Visitation will be Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport. Interment will be at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Long Beach, MS. Repass will be held at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 1704 Pass Road, Gulfport, MS following the committal.
