Ruby Tew McLaurin

Ruby Tew McLaurin, of Fayetteville, passed away at her home on her 98th birthday, September 9, 2022.
She was born in Sampson County on September 9, 1924, to the late Perlie and Daisy Tew. Also preceding her in death was her husband, William B. McLaurin, Sr.; son, Jerry A. McLaurin; four brothers, Blondie, Ginner, Leo, and William Tew; and two sisters, Lois Faye McCullen and Willah Dean Shanklin.
Ruby was a 70 plus year member of Person Street/Baywood Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was very faithful in her attendance and support of the church. She loved her Lord and Savior, was a true servant, and an excellent Godly example to her family. Ruby loved her family, friends, and sports, especially NC State, Duke, and the Braves. She also loved to work on puzzles and sewing.
Left to cherish Ruby's memory are her son, Burnice McLaurin, Jr. (Deborah); daughter, Amy McLaurin Rogers; grandchildren, Cord McLaurin (Pam), Paige M. Prasuhn, Chad McLaurin, Tiffany Mitchell (Billy), Shane McLaurin (Laurel), Brooke M. Autry (Jeremy), Blake Rogers (Jessica), Morgan R. Blake (Ryan); 19 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Virgileen Boyle, Geranium Tew, Violet Kimbell, and Rose Price; brother, Jerome Tew; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will welcome friends from 11:45am to 12:45pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Baywood Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00pm. The service will conclude with her burial at Lafayette Memorial Park.
