Ruby Panther

Ruby Stewart Panther, 80 of Marble, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at her residence. She was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. Ruby began working at Parker and Reichman at the age of 20 where she continued to work until retiring at age 62. Ruby then worked as a caregiver for many local families. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. Ruby enjoyed receiving roses from her sons and loved her little dog, Buddy.
She was the daughter of the late William Posey and Hettie Wiggins Stewart. She was also preceded in death by former husband's, James Leon McClelland and Johnny Pendergrass; two sons, Jimmy and Bobby McClelland; an infant great grandson, Michael James Pendergrass; three sisters, Mary Truett, Inez Watkins, and Doris Nichols.
Surviving are three children, Teresa Dockery and husband, Larry of Blairsville, Georgia, Michael Pendergrass of Marble, and Jeanna Pendergrass of Andrews; two sisters, Ollie Mae Crawford of Marble, Helen Neal and husband, Bob of Andrews; four grandchildren, Candace Dockery of Blairsville, Georgia, Aaron Dockery also of Blairsville, Amber Mathis and husband Joseph of Alabama, and Preston Smith of Andrews; three great-grandchildren, Charity Dockery, Sierra Dockery, Hudson Clay Mathis; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
No services are planned at this time.
Her cremated remains will be interred at Valleytown Cemetery.
