Ruby Gilliland Perrigin

Ruby Gilliland Perrigin, age 90, of Northport, AL, passed away on October 13, 2024 at Aspire Physical Recovery Center. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Pastor Lenwood Gilliland officiating.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raiford Elton Perrigin; father, Auburn Gilliland; mother, Dessie Ozella Gilliland; and sisters, Ruth McMichael and Viola McAteer. She is survived by her son, Steven Raiford Perrigin of Prattville, AL; sister, Odessie Anders of Northport, AL; grandchildren, Matthew Raiford Perrigin of Tuscaloosa, AL, Balea Michelle Perrigin of Richardson, TX, and Michael William Perrigin (Hannah) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Levi Raiford Perrigin and John Luke Perrigin of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Ruby Perrigin was married to the love of her life, Raiford Perrigin, in September of 1956 until Raiford's death in November of 2023. They had one son, Steve, and three grandchildren, Balea, Matt, and Michael, whom she cared for deeply. They also had two great-grandchildren, Levi and John Luke. Ruby never missed an opportunity to love and nurture her husband, son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren nor did she miss an opportunity to witness about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ruby was a member of Munt Hebron Baptist Church in Northport, Alabama. Ruby was a long-time employee of the Tuscaloosa County Commission, spending a majority of her employment in the personnel department until her retirement at age 74.
