Ruby Purcell Obituary
Her formative years were spent in Rowland, NC. She attended Beauty Spot Elementary School and Southside High School. She joined St. Matthew AME Church, after graduating High school she relocated to New York. Upon relocating she joined Evangel Baptist Church. She was employed at Citibank for 32-years before retiring in 2000, once retired she returned home to North Carolina to enjoy her family. She then joined Beauty Spot UMC where she was an active member of Sunday School and Bible Study. She was also a member of multiple church organizations like Intercessory prayer team, Vice Chairperson of Administrative Council, President of the UMC for a number of years, member of the Seasoned Spirits Senior Adult Ministry, Staff Pastor Relations Committee, And member of the Safe Sanctuaries Committee.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, James Purcell, Lucious Purcell, Albert Purcell, Isiah Purcell and Arthur (Sam) and one Grandchild, Tanisha Harden.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children Paul Purcell (Michelle) Roxboro, NC, Cynthia Williams (Charles) Orrum, NC, Michael Davis (Megan) Scranton, PA. Sisters Bessie Frazier (Rudolph) Columbus, NJ, Louise Blunt Dillon, SC, Valier Weir Bronx, NY. Brother Bishop Delaney Leach (Cottie) Rowland, NC. Sister-in-Laws Mary Purcell Rowland, NC, Rosa Purcell Greensboro, NC. Grandchildren Paul Purcell Jr. Cary, NC, Jerome Mitchell (Kenyetta) Hope Mills, NC, James Mitchell, Bronx, NY, Morgan Purcell Roxboro, NC, Karisma Deas, Cary, NC, Starasia Davis Scranton, PA, Savannah Davis Scranton, PA, Michael Davis Jr. Scranton, PA, Angel Mcmullin Orrum, NC, Shenina Williams Whiteville, NC, Corey Ward Whiteville, NC, Natasheanna Williams Whiteville, NC, Dalijanae Willis, Whiteville, NC. 14 Great Grand Children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
