She was born on July 19, 1939 in Rural Valley to Charles Earl and Hazel (Lloyd) Lydic. Ruby graduated from Shannock Valley High School in 1959. She attended Sagamore Wesleyan Methodist Church and it was her favorite place to go. Ruby also was a patient at Life Armstrong where she loved all the people who took care of her and especially all her friends.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Betty (Donald) McLaughlan; granddaughter, Becky (Jason) Lasher; great-grandson, Troy (Kelsey) Cramer; great-granddaughter, Skye Lasher; and great-great granddaughters, Rosalie and Josephine Cramer.
She was preceded in death by husband, Wallace E. Shoop, Jr., whom she married March 10, 1961; infant daughters, Joann & Peggy Shoop; 3 sisters, Dorothy (James) Sample, Bernice (Donald) Herring, and Helen (Homer) Marsh; and 2 brothers, Ernest and Donald Lydic.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 PM with Pastor Thaddeus Taylor officiating.
Burial will take place in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
