IN LOVING MEMORY... Ruby Elizabeth Tunno passed away Monday, July 9th, 2024, after a remarkable 95 years, with her family by her side until the very end. Ruby was born April 29th, 1929, in Castle Gate, UT, to Frank and Mary Pero.
She worked at Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Candies for 30+ years and spent a similar amount of time in retirement. Throughout her life, she remained loyal to her Catholic faith and was proud to say she could drive herself around until she was 94 years old. Driving gave her a strong sense of freedom, as did her time in the kitchen. She made the best Italian dishes, tiramisu, pies, etc. She was the youngest of 15 and was considered the “Queen Bee.” Ruby was married to and took care of her loving husband, Joseph Tunno, for a lifetime. She enjoyed eating out with her family, traveling as much as possible, sharing stories, shopping, and short trips to Wendover with Joe and her sisters. Ruby’s tender-hearted and kind personality will never be forgotten. She will always be remembered as a loyal wife, a loving mother, and the very best grandmother any Grandchild could ask for.
Ruby is survived by Gina, her loving daughter of 59 years; Grandchildren; Kody, Shyler, Cole, Tony, and Ben; Great-grandchildren Gage, Joey, Dustin, Josh, Sarai, Samantha, and soon-to-be Great-grandchild Axel. Kayla and Celeste are Ruby’s granddaughter-in-law.
Ruby is also survived by her Daughter-in-law Rachel. Rachel was married to Ruby’s son Tom, who unfortunately predeceased both Ruby & Joseph.
Ruby will be missed dearly by friends and family alike.
At noon a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church, 2100 S. 450 E., on Friday, July 19th. Viewing will be from 12:00 – 12:30 PM, and Rosary will begin at 12:30 PM. Mass starts at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Road in West Jordan.
