Ruby Lee Wilson, the daughter of John L. King and Rosa Lee King, was born in Camilla, Georgia, on Wednesday, December 16, 1931. Ruby attended Camilla, Georgia public schools and was a graduate of Albany State, where she earned a BS degree in Elements Education.
Ruby married Morris Wilson in 1955, in Columbus, Ohio. Together, they raised two children, Patti Maria and John Morris. Ruby supported her family as a dedicated Teacher's Aide, serving three generations at Watkins, Clairfield, and Koebel Elementary Schools until her retirement.
A devoted member of Southfield Missionary Baptist Church, Ruby was an active participant in the Ushers and Mothers' Board. Her favorite hymn was "Hold To God's Unchanging Hand." Ruby's passions included daily walks, crocheting, and solving crossword puzzles - but her top priorities were always her faith and her family.
Blessed with ninety-three years of life, our beloved Ruby L. Wilson entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 3, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father, John L. King; her mother, Rosa Lee King; her husband, Morris Wilson; and her brother, Henry James King.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughter, Patti Maria Wilson; son, John Morris Wilson; grandchildren, Randy (Mia) Wilson, Rakeem Wilson, and Asia Wilson; great-grandchildren, De'Von, Aaryan, Matthew, and Ruby; sisters, Nora McLaughlin of Georgia and Mary Morrow of Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Mother Wilson will be missed. I know she is smiling down on us all.
To the family, may you find comfort in the arms of our Lord and Savior. He will keep you.
As Mother would say "Hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand."
She is singing "Hallelujah" with the angels. She's probably louder than they are. Many memories can't tell them all but they will always remain in my heart.
