Rudolf Wallner Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Millspaugh Funeral Directors - Walden on Oct. 27, 2025.
It is with love and gratitude that we remember the life of Rudolf "Rudy" Wallner who passed away at home on October 24th, 2025 at the age of 87.
Rudy was a man of quiet strength, steady hands, and a heart full of kindness. Born on February 11, 1938 in Oberpretz, Germany, he spent his life building not only homes as the proud owner of "Rudy Wallner Custom Built Homes", but a lasting foundation of love for his family and friends. As a skilled builder, his craftsmanship can be found in the walls and beams of countless houses - each one standing as a testament to his hard work, dedication, and pride in what he created.
When he wasn't on the job site, Rudy found joy and peace among his honeybees. His gentle care for his hives reflected the same patience and attention he showed to the people around him. Whether he was sharing jars of golden honey or teaching the grandkids about bees, he reminded us all of the beauty in simple, honest work and the sweetness that comes from nurturing life.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Opa who never hesitated to lend a hand, offer wisdom, or share a laugh. His stories, his craftsmanship, and his warmth will live on through every nail he drove, every hive he tended, and every heart he touched.
Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Betty Wallner (Philhower) of Walden, his loving daughters- Barbara and her husband Butch Dudas of Wallkill and Donna Wallner of Walden, his sister, Hildi Sommer of Oberpretz, Germany, his grandchildren-Craig Dudas of Walden, Nicole and her husband Channing Lo Piccolo of Montgomery, and Victoria Vasta, Anthony Vasta and Lane Krupinski -all of Walden. Rudy is also survived by his great grandchildren Mason, Isla, Sienna and his button and sparkle of his eye Maddison Vasta, along with countless nieces and nephews. They will carry his love and lessons forward. He was predeceased by his parents-Anna and Josef Wallner, sister Anni and brother Josef all of Germany.
Visitation will be held at Millspaugh Funeral home in Walden NY on Tuesday October 28th 2025, from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wallkill Valley Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of a man who built so much more than houses - he built a legacy of love.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that his hands are now at rest, and that the world he helped shape is brighter because he was here.
Rest in peace, Opa, You were our builder, our beekeeper, and our blessing.
