Rudolph was born on November 16, 1940, in Brady, Texas, to Eliseo and Antonia (Gonzales) Trevino. He received his GED and enlisted with the United States Army, serving with the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper.

Rudolph was united in marriage to Hortencia Castillo in 1971. They created their home together in Scottsbluff.

Rudolph was a dedicated provider for his family, possessing a wide range of skills that made him a valuable asset in various fields. Following his military service, he found employment at Swifts Packing House. He later pursued certification as an iron worker. Rudolph eventually began a career with Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated over thirty years of service before retiring in 2013. Even in retirement, Rudolph remained active, taking on part-time work at Goonies Sports Bar & Grill, owned by his daughter and son-in-law.

Rudolph was a member of the United Steel Workers District 11 Union and the local union of Union Pacific Railroad over the years.

Rudolph enjoyed the simple things in life, including visiting the local bar to drink a cold beer and chat with friends, attending the Mexican dances, playing pool and cards, and camping. He liked taking off on Sunday cruises with no particular destination in mind. He was a loyal companion to his beloved German Shepherd, Lobo. One of Rudolph's most well-known passions was his unwavering devotion to the Dallas Cowboys. Game days were filled with energy and excitement as he rooted for his favorite team. His love for Dallas Cowboys football was only surpassed by the immense pride and joy he felt for his family.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Hortencia Trevino; sons, Rudy (Laurie) Trevino Jr., Eliseo (Alex) Trevino, and Edward Trevino; daughters, Debra Trevino and Lisa Marie (Paul) Guhn; sister, Anna Marie (Pedro “Pete”) Aguilar; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eliseo Trevino Jr., and sister, Nicolasa Gonzales.
