Russell "Paw" Barefield

Funeral services for Russell Wayne "Paw" Barefield, 74, of Baskin, Louisiana, will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 29, 2024, at Rescue Community Church in West Monroe, Louisiana. Bro. Russell Caldwell and Marion Collier will officiate. Interment will follow at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, Louisiana, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. Visitation will be held the day of service from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Rescue Community Church, West Monroe.
Russell "Paw" was born on September 6, 1949, in Gilbert, Louisiana and passed away on July 26, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana. He retired from North Franklin Water Works as an Operator. Russell was a member of Rescue Community Church in West Monroe and a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed camping, coffee, the outdoors and spending time with his family. Russell was preceded in death by parents, Robert Miles and Johnnie Mae Barefield; sisters, Mamie Tomlison, Emma Glascock, Lynn Newman, Lottie Corbin; brothers, J.B. Barefield and Carl Barefield.
Russell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Tommie Jean Barefield; children, Brandon Barefield, Robin Barefield, Wynette Barefield; grandchildren, Joseph King, Chelsea Starks and her husband Ryan, Kodie King, Kyle Barefield and his wife Esme, Macy Edwards, Ava Vines, and Isaac Salazar; great-grandchildren, Tucker Edwards, Levin Starks, Livy Joy Starks, Lathan Starks and Dallas Wayne Barefield; siblings, Betty Peterson, George Barefield, Robert Barefield, Raymond Barefield; special brother-in-law, Leon McIntyre; and special cousin, Larry Massingale; special friend, Marion Collier; numerous nieces and nephews; along with other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Cassidy, Larry Cassidy, Larry Jackson, Michael Barefield, Tim Ulmer and Pete Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Ulmer, Josh McIntyre, James Ray Peterson, Wayne Barefield, Lloyd Howington and Leon McIntyre.
