Meadow, NC: Mr. Russell Lindsey Barefoot, age 47, of Godwin Lake Road passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Mr. Justin Powell. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.
Russell was born in Johnston County, NC to the late Wayne Linwood and Linda Medlin Barefoot. He was also preceded in death by his brother, DeWayne Brantley Barefoot. He graduated from South Johnson High School in 1995. Russell owned and operated Russell Barefoot Construction and Russell Barefoot Farms. He also worked along side his father, Wayne with W.L. Barefoot and Son Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman and a motorcycle enthusiast. Russell also enjoyed flying, boating, and traveling. He took pride in all he did no matter if it was building cabinets, running a machine, or farming. Russell was an active member of the Meadow Community and served as a founding member of the Board of Directors with the Meadow Fire Department. Russell was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. He claimed to be able to fix anything but a broken heart. But more than anything he loved his girls, Lexi and Sadie.
Survivors include his daughter, Lexi Barefoot; step-mother, Gayle Barefoot of Four Oaks; step-brother, Thomas Wade McMillon and wife, Crystal of Wilmington; nephew, Ethan McMillon; aunt, Sylvia Stafford and husband, Macon of Meadow; uncle, H. Glenn Barefoot and wife, Wanda of Four Oaks; cousins, Adam Barefoot and wife, Mary Jon, Leanne Daughtry and husband, Kevin, Nathan Stafford and wife, Heather, Brantley Stafford, and Ben Stafford; his special Medlin Family; and companion, Sadie May Barefoot.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the Meadow Fire Department, 7409 NC Hwy 50 South, Benson, NC 27504.
