Russell G. Borowiec, on August 17, 2024 of Deptford formerly of Collingswood. Age 91.
Beloved husband of the late Monica Borowiec (nee Grammas). Devoted father of Deborah Goraj, Joseph Borowiec (Jean), Barbara Borowiec, and Mary DeLong (Scott). Loving grandpop Michael (Samantha), Matthew (Jessica), Amanda (Jake), Joseph II (Allison), Steven, Andrew (Meli'sa), Nicholas (Amanda), Brett and Samuel. Great-grandpop of 7. Dear brother of Clara, Norma, and the late Norman and Israel. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Garfield, NJ and raised in South Bronx, NYC where he attended Stuyvesant High School. Russ served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. After service in the USAF, Russ attended Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA where he met the love of his life and married in 1959. His children were born in Williamsport, PA and the family moved to Collingswood, New Jersey in 1970. Russell was active in Collingswood youth sports. He enjoyed playing golf watching the Phillies and the Eagles as well as riding his Harley Davidson with Camden County Harley Owners' Group. Russell is very proud of his heritage and was a long-time member of the Polish Club in Williamsport. Russ was employed by Hartford Steam Boiler and Insurance Company until he retired in 1998 and then worked at Barbs Harley Davidson for 25 years.
Russ loved spending time with his wife, family, and close friends always together always having fun. Russ will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A kind man who was always ready to help, always upbeat with a laid-back attitude and a strong black coffee!
There will be a viewing on Thursday evening August 22, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm and August 23, 2024 Friday morning from 10am to 11am at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral service 11am at funeral home. Interment New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
